OLIVER SUPPORTERS PUT HIM IN FREE & EQUAL DEBATE

ATLANTA - Chase Oliver will be in the Free and Equal Debates, thanks to the efforts of hundreds of supporters who pushed hard to get in those votes before the time cut off at 11:59 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 1.

“Congratulations - we made it. We fought really hard,” says Oliver, 38, winner of the Presidential Straw Poll at the Libertarian Party of Iowa Caucus and Rolling Stone’s “Most Influential Libertarian.”
“We sent thousands of texts, we sent emails, we connected with friends, family, coworkers. We didn’t stop until we crossed the finish line.”

Oliver’s campaign volunteers dared each other to contact even their most apolitical friends and family members, with a last-minute push of texts, emails and calls to place him fourth out of 69 candidates. The friendly rivalry with fellow Libertarian candidate Lars Mapstead and his campaign amped up excitement.

We’re guessing those on the Mapstead campaign did the same. We congratulate them for getting him into the sixth slot, the final to qualify for the debates for candidates excluded by the rigged Presidential Debate Commission that the Old Parties own and run.

“I’m going to LibertyCon with wind in my sails,” Oliver says. Oliver will attend LibertyCon - an event for liberty-minded college students - Friday, Feb. 2 in Washington D.C., and will spend Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 3 and 4, at the Libertarian Party of Alabama convention in.

Libertarian state conventions will select their delegates, who will nominate the party’s presidential candidate at the Libertarian National Convention in Washington DC on Memorial Day weekend.

Since his campaign began in 2023, Chase Oliver:

  • Won the Presidential Straw Poll with about 43 percent of the vote at Libertarian Party of Iowa’s first Caucus. The Iowa Caucuses kick off the presidential campaign season, and showings here can make or break candidacies.

  • Became the first third-party presidential candidate invited to speak at the Iowa Political Soapbox at the State Fair, a reward for in-person campaigning in the Hawkeye State.

  • Spoke at two panel discussions at FreedomFest in Memphis.

  • As Georgia’s first openly gay Senate candidate, spent June marching and meeting with many people at Pride events in Chicago, Atlanta, and Kansas City.

  • Joined the fight to stop the divisive and unpopular Cop City project in his hometown of Atlanta; joined protests against inhumane tactics that city government used against the homeless in Columbia, South Carolina; and has worked alongside activists in his tour across the country.

Oliver’s national attention grew following his debate with incumbent Sen. Raphael Warnock and an empty podium set aside for opponent Herschel Walker. Oliver garnered over 80,000 votes and forced a runoff between the Republican and Democratic candidates.

Broadcast coverage includes PBS, CNN, Fox Business, and CSPAN. Print coverage includes The New York Times, The Washington Post, Bloomberg, and Rolling Stone, which labels him the “Most Influential Libertarian.”

Oliver is available for media interviews, including for university journalism and communications students.
